Week15: An innovated way to give feedback

The topic for this week has really called my attention especially because I have already lived the experience to have personal feedback through the technology and with the usage of the computer. In my opinion, this is a good method to get closer to the student to explain the details about their   evaluations.

In addition, it is important to take into a consideration that giving feedback through the technology might take more time for the teacher to be recorder and explain little by little the reasons why the students have a specific grade. However, with this methology  teachers will evoke any doubt or complain from the students at the time to receive their evaluation results, also it will help to the students to be clear on specific points in their task,and  even though teachers might have different manners to give feedback, this would be the most apropiate way to do or to  release comments for the students . In fact, I hold the opinion that giving personal feedback to students through a video or through a recorded voiced can make students to have a better simplification of their performance, especially because the teacher is the one who is taking the time to explain systematically the results, evoking just giving feedback by writing hand. So, If I had the opportunity to give personal feedback to my students I would chose for sure the metodology of the usage of the computer.

Week13:Letting students express themselves in the classroom

Week 13: Letting students to express in the classroom 

My personal view about this topic is that letting students express themselves in the classroom is important because in that way teachers can easily identify the students who really have understood the topic, and the ones who really need to have a better clarification on it.  In addition, it helps teachers to make students to lose the embarrassed to speak in front of the class or simply tells others what they think about something.

However, the problem is that many teachers do not like to let students say what they think or what they have not understood, many of them just dedicate their time to talk and talk to the students without knowing if the they  are getting the idea or if the students are still bagging with doubts, or even  teachers might noticed that the  students’ face are confused,  and they still continue with the class as if nothing were happening  on students  learning process. When there are many strategies to use to make students  to participate in the classroom, such  as think pair  to share  which in  my opinion,  it would be  a good  way to make students to share their ideas and to make them feel comfortable enough to deliberate their thoughts. Moreover, Teachers may take an advantage to let students to release their opinions and discussions because at that time teachers can provide feedback to the students or help them to have a clear idea about any doubt. To conclude, it seems to me that letting students to participate in the classroom has many advantages.

Week12: Helping  students to develope different projects

The article for this week was quite interesting for me because it talks about how to make students create their own project in the classroom being motivated by their teachers. Additionally, in my opinion making these kinds of activities in the classroom makes students be motivated to develop new skills at the time to be working with their classmates and their teachers, too.  It is important to mention that teachers are required to give constantly feedback to the students and to monitoring their jobs, making agreement in the kind of projects that are going to be presented and the best way to do it for the students .In addition, teachers must make emphasis in what would be the purpose to do the projects because many times students are asked to do projects without any reason, and it might make students feel unmotivated to do their work. It is not as if teachers develop an encourage environment telling the students what they are going to develop will help them to improve their skills, or that they are going to discover new things. Moreover, Teachers should prepare students for the language, skill, and content demands presented by the final written display an oral presentation before are presented because it provides the  opportunity to practice pronunciation, intonation, and to be prepared to make a good project.

Week11: The importance of using mobiles in the classroom.

Mobile usage in the classroom has become an important implement for teachers because with it, they might make a lot of activities in which students may be an aware of having an iPod, phone or something that helps them to be connected to the technology. Moreover, in my opinion a mobile user is a tool that can generate communication and connection between teachers and students, because there are many activities such us make students to record their voices talking about an specific picture, video, or podcast in which teachers can ask students to create their tasks and send a prove of it, by email or something related to the technology.

These kind of activities are good to generate classes in a different way, but in some cases it would be a little difficult to do it because not all the students can have a mobile user, so in that case teachers have to look to make their students work in groups or look for someone who has a mobile usage. Furthermore, something that really called my attention was when the article pointed out that teachers have to be clear when giving instructions to the students when they can send the task through emails,   and what to send, because the information can be misunderstood and students can send information that may not be appropriate for teachers or they might want to be sending texts that will not be rewarding to the task. And about the time students have to respectful with the specific time that the teacher has given to them.

week 10:The importance of helping students to develope their writting skill by the tecnology 

The reading for this week really called my attention, because it talks about how teachers might make students to develop their writing skill through the technology using some writing techniques, which may help them to become good writers. In addition, I think that in order to develop writing skills students are required to practice in different ways, being help by the teacher all the time. In fact teachers must give examples how to write paragraphs to the students, telling them what are the order of the ideas and what are the steps to follow to make a good writing, and  not only  ask them  to produce their own paragraphs, but also to show them how to do the things by proving them of extraordinariness  examples. Additionally, I consider that online there are many pages in which teachers can ask students to practice their writing skills. Websites such as blogger.com, and ning.com in which  students can give opinions, analysis about something or participate in debates with different people including to the teacher who is in charge of monitoring students’ performance. In my personal experience, these kinds of websites have helped me to improve my writing skill.

Especially because I used to receive feedback from my blogs, and my writings performance, so I consider that, it is a good method to practice the spelling, punctuation, and organizing ideas. Unfortunately, not all the teachers are aware of the technology and everything that its contain, but they have to be engaged because the technology and the internet has become an important to help students in their learning process.

Week 8: The vocabulary as an importance element in the learning process

In my personal opinion, this article shows us how importance is to make students learn new vocabulary in different ways using the technology at the time to look for a specific definition. In fact, teachers can give students tasks about reading with new words and make the look for their definitions in different dictionaries found on the website. Moreover, something that really call my attention was that teachers could make students write about any topics and then show to rest of the class the words misspellings that their classmates have made, and ask them think why the words do not fit it in the contexts of their writings, also to look for the definitions of those words that have been written by them. 

However, before giving to the students the links of the websites of dictionaries that they can use to look for the definitions, teachers are required to investigate if these dictionaries are appropriate for students that are learning a new language or if they are for native speakers.

On the other hand, the other reading which was focused on the reading for ESL/FSL  was really interested too because it was related with learning new vocabulary using interesting readings and making students to learn new vocabulary through readings task which in my opinion  might be a good idea to do with our students because we might make them to increase  a hundred of word that they might be able to use in their speeches in the  future.

week 7: Teachers helping students to improve their writing and reading skills with the technology 

In my opinion, writing and reading skills are kind of difficult to develop at the time to learn a new language, especially because learning them have a lot of challenge to achieve. However, nowadays with the usage of the technology students have the big help to practice these skills. In the case of writings, teachers are required to provide different websites in which students might be able to do their writing homework’s; or practice in a different way not just to have fun, but also to improve their skills.

 Additionally, teachers should monitoring student's task at the time to use the technology to practice their writings giving  them feedbacks of the things  that are doing good and the once that they need to improve, always taking an advantage of the technology. In the case of reading, teachers may use interesting website in which students can practice their reading comprehension.  Furthermore, the websites that teachers might give to the students have to include books and stories that are interesting, and easy to understand for them, they have to include pictures that might call students attention in order not to get students boring at the time to read them.

Moreover, nowadays with the technology teachers have the opportunity to create interesting stories by themselves choosing the appropriate level for their students making them learn new vocabulary, while they are having fun with the stories. To conclude, there is no excuse for students to improve their reading, and writing skills because with the technology and the teachers’ help students can develop them in many ways.  Rate:5

Week:6  speaking and listening skills beign improved in interesting ways 

make our students practice their listening and speaking skills has become the easier part in learning process because  students and teachers are full of materials that they can use to improve it out the class with the technology. Especially because nowadays we have the big help of the technology which we can use to practice with different exercises online. In my personal opinion there excellent website to practice listening skills in which students have the opportunity to analyses different audios and at the same time to see if their analysis is coherent. For example,  there is one of the website that  has helped me a lot to improve my  listening which is http://www.esl-lab.com/  with this website students might practice their listening with different audios about different topics  doing some comprehension questions to check the understanding audio.

On the other hand, speaking may be improved out the class by using websites to speak and interact with other people from other countries and with websites in which students are able to record their voices and being corrected by others. Therefore, there is no excuse to say that we don't have enough tools to practices our speaking and listening skills. We us futures teachers have to be aware of this kind of website in order to provide extra material to practice listening and speaking skills  to our students in the future.

WEEK 5: THE IMPORTANCE OF LETTING YOUR STUDENTS HAVE A CRITICAL THINKING 

 In my opinion, having a critical opinion about something specific is important because your brain has the opportunity to think and make analysis about Something in specific. In fact, this is very common on students because most of the time, they do not have the chance to think about the learning process they are having, they are just asked to memorized things, or copy what is on the board or in any book. When they have the capacity to think and analyze if the topic that the teacher is presenting is clear for them of what they think about the topic that is being developed by the teacher. 

 Thus, teachers are required to make students to express their ideas, and their position about the topics. It can be by showing pictures or any article or reading in which students might be able to say I agree o disagree with this, or I think this about that, it does not matter if the students' ideas are not coherence; but at least your are giving them the opportunity to think and express themselves. Moreover, something that really call my attention was about "one on one " activity in which teachers can have a meeting with their students individually and have the time to ask them if their performer is being good or not or if they feel that they are not learning anything,

WEEK 4: THE INTERNET AS AN IMPORTANT ELEMENT ON STUDENTS' LEARNING PROCESS  

During many years, the internet has been a big help in the students learning process because with it, they have the opportunity to practice the language that they are willing to learn in a period.

Furthermore, something hat impress me is the variety of pages that internet has in order to make our students practice their language skills. In fact, there are some sites which have helped me to improve my skills and that I would like to share with my futures   students because these   might be helpful for them at the time to develop or practice any skill in particularly they feel they need to.

.Moreover, I think, the Internet can be used for a deeper level of student engagement and interactivity by helping stimulate their writing, speaking, and listening in which teachers can be participated, by using messenger or Skype making   students able to communicate each other.

Unfortunately, no everybody can have access to the internet nowadays, but teachers can help students to have internet programs and exercise by recording them or by saving it in special document, and then they can pass it to the students. In their mobile phone or by another device.

 Therefore, the internet might be useful not only for student’s but also for teachers too, because of the interaction that can have students and teachers..

                     WEEK 1:    THE IMPORTANCE  OF THE TECHNOLOGY IN LANGUAGE LEARNING 

Before reading the article “Computers  and  language  learning”, I had never  read   about  different  techniques and methods of using technology  to teach a  new language; so  for me  before reading this, students acquired the language with old strategies.  but now  I overturned my mind, especially because  I realized that with this tool  we us futures teachers have the opportunity to use the computer in different ways  at the time to teach  our classes . Especially because we can make different extra ordinaries activities to make, students have a different learning process.

Furthermore, with a computer students might be able to handle different types of of tools to improve their skills and practice the ones, which are the most difficult for them, forgetting about the old methods like memorizing concepts, and coping just the concept without practicing.  Another  thing is that the   call program  has become  a big help  to improve  the writing process for the students   because computers have adding  spectaculars  tools  to make better pre-writing, and spelling  using a diversities of dictionaries online, translators, and a lot of spellings  programs. Therefore, this is a help for the student’s to practice their grammar, spelling and writing. Besides this, with the technology, teach different tools to teach in a different way with an amanganzy innovation form which might help students to learn in a different way.

Week 2 : Students Discovering Their Skills to be Improved

Discovering what areas need to  be improved might be  a challenge for the students at the time to learn a new  language.

However, I think that it would be a good idea for us like futures teachers to let our students do assessments  in order to make them think if the material and the activities that we might be using in our classes are being useful or useless for their performers. Besides this, I consider that teachers are required to motivate students to continue working on things that are not working well or have defiance, and give them all the necessary tools to improve the areas in which they have dificulties to learn.Fortunately, with the tecnology students have the opportunity to have a better learning process because with it they can find differents type of exersises to practice more and more with a lot of activities. For the teachers will also be a help because they might create some extra activities in a different way In conclusion, From 1 to 5 I would rate this article with 5 because I think Students are required to discover what things, they have to do to improve their learning process and identify what is the best way for them to learn.

Week 3: Improving Listening In a different Way 

In my opinion developing, the listening skill has been difficult for students during years, especially because this skills has not been taught with innovate meths. Therefore, this skill struggle students at the time to understand and analyses the audios, and  if the teachers do not change the way to teach  this , it will continue being difficult to develop this skill for the students. However, something that calls my attention  about the article was the new method to teach that has been created to make students to understand real conversations and difficult words in the listenings. Unfortunately, teachers rarely  uses this meths  because they still believe  that with their old techniques such as using old cassettes and making students fill out their books, they are helping their students to understand better the audios. When there are other  exceptional tools such as podcast to use  in which students can practices their listening in a better way.

Therefore, If I get the opportunity to teach listening, I would like to do it with podcast instead of using cassette because with podcasts I may help my students improve their listening faster, and it might help them to communicate to each other from others countries.
 To conclude, I consider that including podcasts in listening classes, students are allow to learn with pleasure forgetting old strategies that teachers used to use in their classes.
