Week15: An innovated way to give feedback


The topic for this week has really called my attention especially because I have already lived the experience to have personal feedback through the technology and with the usage of the computer. In my opinion, this is a good method to get closer to the student to explain the details about their   evaluations.

In addition, it is important to take into a consideration that giving feedback through the technology might take more time for the teacher to be recorder and explain little by little the reasons why the students have a specific grade. However, with this methology  teachers will evoke any doubt or complain from the students at the time to receive their evaluation results, also it will help to the students to be clear on specific points in their task,and  even though teachers might have different manners to give feedback, this would be the most apropiate way to do or to  release comments for the students . In fact, I hold the opinion that giving personal feedback to students through a video or through a recorded voiced can make students to have a better simplification of their performance, especially because the teacher is the one who is taking the time to explain systematically the results, evoking just giving feedback by writing hand. So, If I had the opportunity to give personal feedback to my students I would chose for sure the metodology of the usage of the computer.

Week13:Letting students express themselves in the classroom

Week 13: Letting students to express in the classroom 

My personal view about this topic is that letting students express themselves in the classroom is important because in that way teachers can easily identify the students who really have understood the topic, and the ones who really need to have a better clarification on it.  In addition, it helps teachers to make students to lose the embarrassed to speak in front of the class or simply tells others what they think about something.
However, the problem is that many teachers do not like to let students say what they think or what they have not understood, many of them just dedicate their time to talk and talk to the students without knowing if the they  are getting the idea or if the students are still bagging with doubts, or even  teachers might noticed that the  students’ face are confused,  and they still continue with the class as if nothing were happening  on students  learning process. When there are many strategies to use to make students  to participate in the classroom, such  as think pair  to share  which in  my opinion,  it would be  a good  way to make students to share their ideas and to make them feel comfortable enough to deliberate their thoughts. Moreover, Teachers may take an advantage to let students to release their opinions and discussions because at that time teachers can provide feedback to the students or help them to have a clear idea about any doubt. To conclude, it seems to me that letting students to participate in the classroom has many advantages.

Week12: Helping  students to develope different projects


The article for this week was quite interesting for me because it talks about how to make students create their own project in the classroom being motivated by their teachers. Additionally, in my opinion making these kinds of activities in the classroom makes students be motivated to develop new skills at the time to be working with their classmates and their teachers, too.  It is important to mention that teachers are required to give constantly feedback to the students and to monitoring their jobs, making agreement in the kind of projects that are going to be presented and the best way to do it for the students .In addition, teachers must make emphasis in what would be the purpose to do the projects because many times students are asked to do projects without any reason, and it might make students feel unmotivated to do their work. It is not as if teachers develop an encourage environment telling the students what they are going to develop will help them to improve their skills, or that they are going to discover new things. Moreover, Teachers should prepare students for the language, skill, and content demands presented by the final written display an oral presentation before are presented because it provides the  opportunity to practice pronunciation, intonation, and to be prepared to make a good project.

Week11: The importance of using mobiles in the classroom.

Mobile usage in the classroom has become an important implement for teachers because with it, they might make a lot of activities in which students may be an aware of having an iPod, phone or something that helps them to be connected to the technology. Moreover, in my opinion a mobile user is a tool that can generate communication and connection between teachers and students, because there are many activities such us make students to record their voices talking about an specific picture, video, or podcast in which teachers can ask students to create their tasks and send a prove of it, by email or something related to the technology.
These kind of activities are good to generate classes in a different way, but in some cases it would be a little difficult to do it because not all the students can have a mobile user, so in that case teachers have to look to make their students work in groups or look for someone who has a mobile usage. Furthermore, something that really called my attention was when the article pointed out that teachers have to be clear when giving instructions to the students when they can send the task through emails,   and what to send, because the information can be misunderstood and students can send information that may not be appropriate for teachers or they might want to be sending texts that will not be rewarding to the task. And about the time students have to respectful with the specific time that the teacher has given to them.

week 10:The importance of helping students to develope their writting skill by the tecnology 



The reading for this week really called my attention, because it talks about how teachers might make students to develop their writing skill through the technology using some writing techniques, which may help them to become good writers. In addition, I think that in order to develop writing skills students are required to practice in different ways, being help by the teacher all the time. In fact teachers must give examples how to write paragraphs to the students, telling them what are the order of the ideas and what are the steps to follow to make a good writing, and  not only  ask them  to produce their own paragraphs, but also to show them how to do the things by proving them of extraordinariness  examples. Additionally, I consider that online there are many pages in which teachers can ask students to practice their writing skills. Websites such as blogger.com, and ning.com in which  students can give opinions, analysis about something or participate in debates with different people including to the teacher who is in charge of monitoring students’ performance. In my personal experience, these kinds of websites have helped me to improve my writing skill.

Especially because I used to receive feedback from my blogs, and my writings performance, so I consider that, it is a good method to practice the spelling, punctuation, and organizing ideas. Unfortunately, not all the teachers are aware of the technology and everything that its contain, but they have to be engaged because the technology and the internet has become an important to help students in their learning process.

Week 8: The vocabulary as an importance element in the learning process


In my personal opinion, this article shows us how importance is to make students learn new vocabulary in different ways using the technology at the time to look for a specific definition. In fact, teachers can give students tasks about reading with new words and make the look for their definitions in different dictionaries found on the website. Moreover, something that really call my attention was that teachers could make students write about any topics and then show to rest of the class the words misspellings that their classmates have made, and ask them think why the words do not fit it in the contexts of their writings, also to look for the definitions of those words that have been written by them. 
However, before giving to the students the links of the websites of dictionaries that they can use to look for the definitions, teachers are required to investigate if these dictionaries are appropriate for students that are learning a new language or if they are for native speakers.

On the other hand, the other reading which was focused on the reading for ESL/FSL  was really interested too because it was related with learning new vocabulary using interesting readings and making students to learn new vocabulary through readings task which in my opinion  might be a good idea to do with our students because we might make them to increase  a hundred of word that they might be able to use in their speeches in the  future.

week 7: Teachers helping students to improve their writing and reading skills with the technology 


In my opinion, writing and reading skills are kind of difficult to develop at the time to learn a new language, especially because learning them have a lot of challenge to achieve. However, nowadays with the usage of the technology students have the big help to practice these skills. In the case of writings, teachers are required to provide different websites in which students might be able to do their writing homework’s; or practice in a different way not just to have fun, but also to improve their skills.
 Additionally, teachers should monitoring student's task at the time to use the technology to practice their writings giving  them feedbacks of the things  that are doing good and the once that they need to improve, always taking an advantage of the technology. In the case of reading, teachers may use interesting website in which students can practice their reading comprehension.  Furthermore, the websites that teachers might give to the students have to include books and stories that are interesting, and easy to understand for them, they have to include pictures that might call students attention in order not to get students boring at the time to read them.
Moreover, nowadays with the technology teachers have the opportunity to create interesting stories by themselves choosing the appropriate level for their students making them learn new vocabulary, while they are having fun with the stories. To conclude, there is no excuse for students to improve their reading, and writing skills because with the technology and the teachers’ help students can develop them in many ways.  Rate:5
